On Saturday I took 2 of DGD siblings to visit the Museum of Natural History. It was an adventure.
They are good kids, 13 & 15. This was their first trip to NYC, first train ride, first subway experience..........
In the subway I had to explain that one does Not stand near the edge of the platform. Of course I had to explain why. Then she was nervous of the subway. By the time we got to 81st Street, she had decided that she didn't want to ride the subway again, ever!
We spent more than 5 hours in the Museum, looking at exhibits at quite a fast pace. (READ the signs? Huh? Why?)We still missed 1/2 the museum.
BIG place.
Time to head back to catch our ride.
No, not the Subway - So, we walked back downtown. After 20 blocks or so, she was convinced that the subway wasn't SO bad.
I'm obviously still chuckling. I've never convinced any of the siblings of anything so easily. No arguing at all.

I understand that they were full of the trip the next day. They couldn't stop telling about it; always thinking of new details.

I do wish that they would write me a Thank You note. I would treasure that. But it wouldn't mean as much if I had to drag it out of them.

A/L
