Try taking a walk or getting some exercise. It will help your body regulate your blood sugar and you will feel better faster.

When I had gestational diabetes I had to eat a low GI diet. One thing I learned was that I could eat anything I wanted as long as I planned for it. I was pregnant over Halloween, and I wanted my peanut butter cup, darn it! So I looked in advance at the nutritional label, and basically planned a dinner around it. My dinner was high fat, high protein, high fiber, and when I added that lovely, delicious peanut butter cup, it ended up being balanced and my blood sugar was perfect.

Now that I don't have GD, I don't have to be as meticulous, but I still try to plan for my treats. I already have an extra workout planned for Halloween this year. Much more realistic than saying I just won't eat any candy.

So my advice to you would be don't look at any food as off limits, or you'll only crave it more. Just realize you need to plan for it.
