I am a novice trying to understand. I am looking at Fool Reasearch on "DISH" and the High Estimate for Jun 1999 is -1.16 and the Low Estimate is -1.74. The Low Estimate for FY 1999 is -8.36. etc. I have read the help section and still do not know what the minus signs mean and how to read information like this.

Estimates can come in from a variety of analysts. The most optimistic analyst thinks that DISH will lose just $1.16 per share for the quarter ending June 1999. The most pessimistic analyst says it will be $1.71 per share.

For the 1999 fiscal year the total loss is estimated to be at least $8.36 per share.

Does this help?
