TSA-Tax Sheltered Annuity
I transferred 10,000 dollars(after withdrawal fees...) last October 98 from 2 TSA's that I had paid into, to a Vanguard 403b(7) and distributed it equally between 4 funds(Index 500, Health, Growth, Growth Index) I contributed 2000 dollars more during this last year. My last statement balance was a few dollars short of 17,000 dollars.(IN ONE YEAR!) That doesn't sound like a great balance to someone who has hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds but if you consider the fact that I make under 10,000 a year (stayed home with my children when they were little, got behind in the job market)and my take home after taxes and contribution to retirement fund is $586.00, I think I've done well to put that aside. I just wish I had moved it sooner. All my money did in the TSA's with the insurance companies is make them better off. My advise, MOVE IT!
