1. The Good Wife
2. Blue Bloods
3. Burn Notice
4. Chicago Fire

We miss Jack Bauer.

Night time is the only time I watch TV. Even though I'm retired I rarely watch daytime TV. I usually have shows every night that I normally watch and the times I don't have shows we watch Netflix DVD's or On Demand or now Streaming Netflix with Roku - which is the best thing ever.

Right now on Sunday nights we are watching Downton Abbey. There are quite a few Sunday night shows, when they are on, that we watch. Dexter, True Blood, Mad Men, Hell On Wheels, Boardwalk Empire, Treme. They are on a lot of different networks so a lot of the times I have to catch them later on On Demand.

Monday nights I watch Tony Bourdain - The Layover and then Pawn Stars on the History Channel.

Tuesday nights we watch Parenthood on NBC. It's a great show.

Wednesday night it's the ABC comedy lineup from 7 to 9 and then Top Chef on Bravo at 9.

Thursday night I watch The Big Bang Theory and 2.5 Men, The Vampire Diaries, and Swamp People.

Friday & Saturday Nights we watch Netflix DVD's.

"The only one on that list we watch is Mad Men. What the hell is Swamp People?" - Josh

I grew up hunting and fish. My dad brought home great big snapping turtles which he and Howard Austin butchered and we ate. There were 6 of us kids so my dad was always looking for sources of protein to feed us. Dad grew a great big garden and there were always plenty of vegetables. He also raised rabbits when we lived in Bonfield, Illinois.

So Swamp People is a show about people who live and exist on the Louisiana Bayou, hunting and fishing and shrimping, and they also hunt alligators that they sell for their meat and their hides. The show follows these people around in their boats as they set traps to catch gators and they shoot the gators and haul them into the packing plants and sell them. It's a lot about who got the biggest gator and their lives.

It's a kind of life that I think I would have liked. I like guns and hunting and fishing and I've been shrimping and I like killing animals and butchering and eating them. I've done all those things.

The difference is though that I've lived all over the United States and lived in fairly large cities and I went to college and I've got a couple of degrees.

But if things had been a little different? I could have enjoyed being a "Swamp People."

The typical patient/family I deal with every day. Along with Gator Boys, Duck Dynasty, and Honey Boo Boo. Unfortunately they cancelled All My Babies Mamas before it could air.

I like Vegas, Biggest Loser, although the weepy contestants and product placement and advertising is wearing, I like c Span, How things work, old movies on TMC or TCM and of course NetFlix. When MadMen come back on I'll be watching that too. I saw something last night, what was the name of it? it was on an "off" channel....crap, forget the name, but it has Fran Drescher and her ex husband who lives with her who is gay...it was kind of funny.

There are a few other shows I like, names escape me.

We are going through the Fringe series. We are about 1/2 way through the 2nd season. It is very good sci-fi.

Started a new show on the sci-fi channel recently. Continuum. It's about Time travel.

I don't have cable so I watch whatever shows my friend with cable is kind enought to record for me on DVD-R discs. Right now I am working my way through "Homeland".

I like a lot of the Sy Fy Channel shows that he has recorded for me in the past.

We're so out of it. DH doesn't watch anything. I watch NCIS on Hulu. We haven't turned on the TV as a TV in over a year. I may tangle with Verizon again to get our rates reduced. Last time it was if we didn't have tier 2 TV (or something) we'd get lowered internet speeds. Excuse me? I have to have TV I don't want for decent internet speed? I may look into Comcast.

My experience is somewhat different. Comcast couldn't even manage to NOT cause my signal to go out, after I switched to satellite.

Its set up where at the end of this year he does finally meet the woman at the wedding of Barney & Robin. Which he briefly met in passing years before when he dated a room mate of hers.

However, there is rumor that they will produce another season after this, I guess to follow them up to getting married and having kids. Doubt I'll watch.

Well maybe I'll start back watching it in March then. A lot of the shenanigans they got into I just didn't find that interesting or entertaining. I was curious who Ted was going to marry so that is why I kept watching it for a couple of years. I got bored with it and quit when it never happened. I'll tune in later to find out.

It's called "Happily Divorced". (I didn't realize that TV Land is an "off" channel.) I'm currently watching that and "Hot in Cleveland" on Wednesday nights.

The Weather Channel has ticked me off in recent years with their skimping on the "Local on the 8s" and rerunning all the same old storm stories shows, and coast guard shows and such, ad nauseam. But I have taken to a new series they just started a few weeks ago called "Deadliest Space Weather". I'm watching it on Thursday nights. Last night's episode was about the 900-MPH winds on the planet Neptune.

I like Vegas -- LD

I started watching Vegas this year because of Dennis Quaid--wasn't sure about it at first but it seems to be getting better all the time. This week's episode was amazing. The writers must have been on speed or something--they could have made two of three seasons out of all the action going on. Michael Chiklas is good too--he has more experience on tv--Quaid's getting better each episode--but I really like him and have for years so for me he can do no wrong.

I wouldn't call Andrew's Hot in Cleveland channel "off" either , but if you like Vegas and good action series maybe you'd like Justified on "off" channel FX--Tuesday nights and a bunch of repeats throughout the week too. Stars Timothy Oliphant as dreamy Marshall Raylan Givens and Walton Goggin as sexy and dangerous Boyd Crowder and a bunch of talented and good looking women too who can act the heck out of a scene. Based on Elmore Leonard's story Fire in the Hole

http://www.fxnetworks.com/justified

There's another new action show I like too, although it's only been on 3 weeks so far--Banshee on Cinemax if you get that premium station. Antony Starr plays the lead. He is a New Zealand star who played in "Rush," a 2008 Australian police drama (and some fantasy episodes, Xena:Warrior Princess and Hercules:the Legendary Journeys--the people in those fantasy series are so beautiful--how do they do that--all those closeups and the long flowing hair on everyone, male, female, whatever.)

But back to Banshee--Starr plays the lead as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee County, Pa., and yes, right in the middle of Quaker country which adds some tone and texture. Ivana Milicevic is the love interest (now married to someone else and respectable but an old love and crime partner of Hood in earlier days). The striking, beautiful Ivana was the Bond girl in 2006's Casino Royale, also played in Vanilla Sky, other things.

http://www.cinemax.com/banshee/

It's about time they had some good new crime things back on the air so I'm glad to see these. CBS does a pretty good job of it with their network stuff but NBC and ABC really muck it up in my opinion. Thank goodness for those off channels.
