Thanks to all for the help and advice. We ordered a new Pathfinder SE 5-speed from a nearby dealer last night. It's for my wife's landscape design biz, so we got a green one, natch.

Here's the question: Anybody heard of "The Protector" system? The d'ship suggested I spring for this for $399. The usual blah, blah, blah about protecting the finish and the interior surfaces. S'posed to be guaranteed for five years. (I thought even the best silicone treatments lasted only a year, at best).

My normal inclination is to run from this one. I don't mind detailing and waxing, and I've got McNeil floor mats and a rear cargo mat left over from the old Land Cruiser.

Opinions, pls...
