Typically there are only 1 or 2 VP debates, so we really won't get to see Ryan make Biden look like the idiot he is.

We also cannot expect the media to change or the Left's PACs to back off. Negative campaigning works and the Left has also hung their hat on character assasination. So, you have to have some leaders who know how to win with those obstacles. Thus far that is not evident.

Today was the latest example. The Left was already bashing Ryan and MSNBC talking heads were close to wetting their pants with ecitement over Ryan's budget plan and Medicare.

Then there was no talk by Ryan regarding his Medicare plan. You get very few occasions with nationwide media. The Right should have known this, and had better plans for it. It's great to hype Romney, but they had the opportunity to call out The Left for the lies in the ads, to pre-empt some of the attacks on Medicare, and target some of the groups they need. None of this was done, with the exception of some brief implication by Ryan of the Left's no-so honest message.

Strike 1.
