As a UK citizen, working abroad, it is not necessary to pay UK tax.
That is good!

Many Investment Trusts offer very low charges for investors, for example, JP Morgan Investment Trusts, or Foreign & Colonial.

The worry I have about these trusts though is that they are set up for UK Citizens living in the UK. If an ex-pat invested into them, would they end up having to pay UK Tax?

JP Morgan do have Offshore funds, based in Luxembourg, for people like ex-pats, but I have noticed that the fees are very much higher than for the UK based Investment trusts; in fact, the fees are so much higher, I doubt whether it would be worth investing in them.

Vanguard have some off-shore investment trusts based in Ireland. Their fees are low, but the range of funds seems very limited.

Where should I look for a wide range of well managed funds offering the benefits of low fees and the tax advantages that an ex-pat can enjoy.

Surely I am not the only ex-pat interested in this!?
