Umm being single, no childern and not owning a home sucks.
I paid about 12,000 in taxes last year. This year I got married and into a home, and now I'm going to pay about 4,000. (My wife is starting a company, so has no income, yet :)

Anyways.. you said you "will Earn 250,000-300,000" could you delay some of the earnings until next year (Can I bill you after the 1'st?)? Could you buy 'things' you need for you business? Maybe you 'need' a car for work?

Um, also if you've really earned 250,000 I'm pretty sure you'll be fined for not paying 1/4 year income taxes (its okay for you to give them too much money, but its not okay they don't have your money..) Not sure about this about the fine, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to pay esitmated income tax next year, even if you earn 0. (Which sucks pretty bad) Again, this is based on what my tax advisor said for my wifes business.

Also, I'd start and LLC or incoroprate asap if you haven't. LLC's are really easy to start, well at least in my state. The LLC probally won't save you money on taxes, but the corporation can because you can have some of your income, not be income.
