Lucky me...I am PREAPPROVED for a Mastercard or Visa...or BOTH, each with a credit limit of either $250, $500 or $1,000, from First Premier Bank. ($1,000 has a check beside it.)

Trouble #1: There's a $29 "application fee" per card.

Hmm.

Turn the paper over to read the tiny print, and Trouble #2 appears: "Acceptance fee: $119 per card."

Interesting.

Trouble #3: "Annual fee: $50 per card."

Trouble #4: "$6 per month participation fee per card."

Does anyone else find this troubling? Not that I want their stupid card, but I found this downright offensive. I truly hope that no poor souls out there are desperate enough to send them all this money for a possible $250 credit line.

I've never done this, but I am following the Foolish plan of sticking everything I can find in their pre-paid envelope and sending it back to them with "surely you jest" written on the front!
