OK Gus (et al) ...

For cost reasons, I am leaning towards a "digicam." I am considering the Canon Powershot SD950-IS (12 megapixels). I can get this really nice digicam for $350 and an Ikelite underwater housing for $270.

Do I absolutely need a strobe?

How important is having a wide angle lens? The lens on the Canon Powershot DS950-IS goes from 36mm to 133mm, so I don't think that qualifies.

Is an Ikelite housing worth $100+ more than a Canon underwater housing?

Thanks!
