I see we're all jealous of Cassandra's unexpected check. I just received a sort of unexpected check, from AT&T. Actually I did expect it. They send me about $300 a year to switch back to them. I've been doing this for five years now and every few months they send me $100. They key is to keep switching phone companies for good rates or good deals. So I sign up with MCI and get 1000 frequent flyer miles, AT&T calls, I tell them I'll think about it. I wait for AT&T to call three times, usually on the third time they offer free minutes, like 2 hours a month, I still decline. Then within 2 weeks I get a check for $100. I cash it, and MCI calls within a week with some offer to switch me back, usually miles. I have 49,000 miles right now and $100 from AT&T. (Only about 20,000 miles are from MCI.)
