Unfortunately American Idol actually looks interesting this year and TAR-Allstars is set to air in a couple of weeks. I'm going to have to stay extra focused to stick to my tv diet.

I like my job and I'd like to be better at it. So I've decided that some of my spare time should be spent gaining more knowledge in my field. I can't afford to buy the programs I use at work, so for now I'll have to rely on the internet for articles, tutorials and so on. But after an hour of heavy duty browsing last night, I'm realizing that both my computer and internet connection seriously need to be upgraded. Some pdfs I can't read because my Acrobat Reader is too old. But I can't download the newest Reader because my computer is too old. Graphics take forever to load. Forget about watching videos. And though I hate to admit it, eventually I will need to buy my own copies of the programs I use at work to fully master them. All of this will not be cheap and it's hard to decide whether I should sacrifice and pay for it all out of savings or follow the LBYM motto and keep "making do and doing without." This is one of those situations where the line between need and want gets really blurry.
