Unionized New York Times staffers plan a short walkout on Monday afternoon, reported Katherine Fung at the Huffington Post. The staffers, members of the Newspaper Guild of New York, will meet up and collectively walk outside of the new but iconic New York Times building in Manhattan to protest management’s position on contract negotiations. What we have here is a failure to communicate... the truth. The Times has been reporting that "rich" companies can afford to pay better wages and benefits to their workers. The Times lied about companies being "rich". The Times lied about companies being able to afford to pay better wages and benefits. The Times' workers were stupid enough to believe their own lies. The union workers and the Times corporation deserve each other.
