United for many years was my preferredairline. I saw things change about 10years ago. I'm not sure if this wascaused by the employee-owned business dealor what. Nowadays - you are squashed inthere like a sardine in a can. The attendantsare rude and could care less if you arecomfortable. You rarely see a smile ora kind word from any of them.My last two flights have been on AlaskaAirlines. I was amazed at the differencebetween Alaska and United. The stewardswere actually helpful and friendly. Therewas actually enough room to cross your legs.I fell asleep during the last hour of theflight (normally I have to stay awake tokeep the plane up in the air) and thestewardess stopped by to tell me I hadmissed the ice cream while sleeping andwould I like some now. Can you imaginethat happening on United?It's truly a shame what has happened toUnited Airlines. I feel very stronglythat they have brought this on themselvesand taxpayers should not have to bail them out.MonChienP.S. - Even Southweste is a delight compared
