Talk America reported fourth-quarter earnings of $2 million, or 7 cents a share, down from a year-ago profit of $11.1 million, or 40 cents a share. Revenue fell in the latest three months to $114.6 million from $125.3 million in the same period a year earlier. Looking ahead, the New Hope, Pa., communications services provider sees EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of $13 million to $15 million, excluding stock option expense, for the first quarter on revenue of between $118 million and $120 million. For 2006, it increased its outlook for capital spending to between $25 million and $30 million from a previous projection of $21 million to $25 million. The stock closed Thursday at $9.91, up 2.7%
