A PC-using friend burned a CD-R for me (some Apoptygma Berzerka and Beborn Beton mp3s). Attempting to play on my '96 vintage Performa 6400 I've had some success and few hard crashes.

So am I asking too much of the old machine? Is the reflectivity of the CD-R media too low to play reliably on mid-90s CD-ROM drives?

Or is German techno the problem?
