I am considering a Verizon plan w/ 250 anytime, 1000 nite/weeekend, free long distance, free phone, $44.99/mo., 1 year.

Different people at Verizon gave me opposite answers to the following simple and important question: Is long distance free during the 1000 nite/weekend minutes, or only during the 250 anytime minutes? One guy said free for sure, 2 others said no way. None of them could find anything in writing one way or the other. The first guy couldn't understand why I wouldn't just take his word for it! Apparently he's never dealt w/ a utility, bank, gov't, telecom, or other large organization that always repudiates verbal statements by its representatives and insists on following the written "agreement" (even if the customer never saw it, let alone agreed to it).

If anyone has any commentary or experience re this issue, please post. Thanks.
