I agree that Clinton was/is very bright, except that he apparently couldn't keep it in his pants. My wife despises him AND Hillary, but I think (looking beyond his screwups -- pun intended) he was very bright and knew how to do the job.

Clinton was a great politician and had a lot of untapped potential that he ruined with his self absorbed wantings. At the raw basic level, he did not possess the character to be the President. He stumbled into it thanks to Perot (who I voted for BTW) and the Bush I recession. He had the intellect and statesman demeaner but in the end, everyone found out he was just in it for himself and he did not give a rat's rear about the rest of the country. Libs talk about Bush protecting his friends? Sure he does. But Clinton wrote the book on it and pardoned out right slimeballs and criminals. I could go on and on but ya'll have heard it many times.

Fleg's post is right on. Those were the reasons Clinton's Presidency was really a failure. Not the Lewinsky fiasco.

Hillary OTOH, is razor sharp and will work 5am to 12pm everyday to bring in her world view of how the USA should be run. From a libertarian POV, she is much more dangerous than her husband.
