Vertex announced results of the "drug-combo" trials and they were good enough to make the market pretty happy. I was worried because one analyst had come away and said that after talking to the scientists and doctors behind the scenes (of the recent conference in Europe) and the analyst was pretty pessimistic.

But also, a thanks to the wife who had been bugging me to sell out my remaining shares over the last few months. I had ignored her knowing results were coming soon (though I contemplated selling and buying July call options at a high premium). When the results came the other morning and it shot above $100 she nagged to me to sell before hours. By the time I got on the price had dropped from highs to about $100 again but I got greedy and put in a sell order for 3/4 of my position at $102.04. The TV ticket showed it hit $102 but then fell quickly so I figured I missed it. When I looked later it turns out I got super lucky and it actually hit.

I think there is still more uncertainty but also the possibility that it will be bought out by one of the big boys like Merck or Pfizer. I also don't like the crazy pricing of the drug. I understand the cost of not using the cure is very expensive and they get to charge whatever the market will bear, but still it seems a bit crazy.
