Many people avoid being out in the sun too much in order to avoid the possibility of melanoma. Even when they do go outdoors they were sunblocks. However, Vitamin D, which we get from the sun, seems to have crucial affects on gene changing, so we need to have more of it.

I still see my oncologist once a year, just to make sure everything is okay. She has told me she wants me to have at least 2000 IU a day. (I actually take more, because in addition to the Vitamin D tablets the Calcium has 800 IU).

Has anyone else heard from their doctors that they should be taking Vitamin D supplements?
