Vivendi Sues Napster

Proving that kicking a company while it's down can be entertaining as heck when the boots are laced with irony, Vivendi (NYSE: V) is the latest music company to jump on the "Let's Sue Napster in a Post-Napster World" bandwagon.

Yes, Napster's been toast for quite some time now. When you see its familiar logo with the "Under Construction" caption, it's OK to chuckle and assume that "Under Destruction" is more apropos.

That Vivendi is joining the music publishers in a $17 billion lawsuit against rival record label Bertelsmann AG, which acquired Napster in late 2000, is ludicrous on many levels...
