Through various past corporate shenanagans of Seagate Technology and Veritas Software, I'm the owner of a chunk of Veritas (VRTS) stock. I wasn't really that pleased to get it in the first place and it's done nothing but lose me about 45% since it got switched from Seagate stock over to VRTS about 3-4 years ago. This was the Seagate management's method of "unlocking the value" of the stake they held in VRTS.

And now it's going to be Symantec stock. I realize that these aren't HGs but I could use some advice on what to do with this stuff. Every day I'm tempted to take the loss and move on. But I haven't because I'm just not sure what the VRTS/SYMC merger will do for SYMC stock. Maybe it'll recover....who knows?!

Has anyone here in Fooldom taken a look at this merger and have any opinions of what may come of it?
