Hi folks...

does anyone know if putting "married/withold at higher single rate" and zero on the W-4 will take out the same amount as single and zero?

Thanks...

Yep. That's exactly what you'll get.

it`s a wash - it is virtually the same thing although worded to confuse the less wary. `married but withhold at tthe higher single rate` tells the boss-man that you are married (and also the IRS if they need to send it in before your w-3 transmittals/1040 arrive)
single and 0 is just another `filing status.
