I was just diagnosed as pre-diabetic at the end of November. When I received the phone call from the nurse with my test results, she said my good cholesterol was low and I should start exercising, and my blood sugar was high, and the doctor would discuss that with me at the follow-up visit in two months. Then when I looked at my test results on the website, I noticed the doctor included a diagnosis of pre-diabetic. That put me into panic mode!I lost 4 lbs between Thanksgiving and New Year's, and started exercising. Since January I've been exercising more consistently and reading everything I can find regarding pre-diabetes. I've lost another 6 lbs so far in January and will continue to lose weight and exercise.I'm already eating low carb because I'm gluten intolerant and I don't really make an effort to add rice, quinoa, or potatoes to meals. I've been gluten intolerant for about a year and half, and that helped break my sweet tooth. My next doctor's appointment is next Tuesday, and I can't wait to ask about 1000 questions and have a good discussion with my doctor about the pre-diabetes. I hope the exercise and weight loss have had a positive impact, but it may be too soon to tell.Cosmos
