I requested the creation of this board the day I registered with this email message "My son was contacted this week (6/3/98) by a New York broker suggesting Factual Data warrents (FDCCW) at $2 for a 2-week trade to $3-3 1/2. FDCC stock had gone public about 2-weeks earlier at $5 - & was then $7. The warrents (issued at 10 cents - 1 with each stock share) are convertible at $8 (for ~2 years)."

I'm very new at this but would like to understand more about such warrents which are issued along with new stocks. They seem similar to CALL options, providing comparable leverage and risk. How common is this?

Is Factual Data a good investment?
