I dunno....Calvin believed in predestination like Art. And Hobbes believed that the life of man was solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.

Sounds like a pessimistic fatalist. ;-)

....not that there are optimistic fatalists.

There have been a lot of actual research studies done in labs that lean towards fate and predestination. I've posted links to the articles numerous times. I believe the articles support fate and predestination.

There have been a lot of actual research studies done in labs that totally suck.

Seriously, how would you test for that?

I take it you didn't read the articles, automatically dismissing them in your mind as being a bunch of hooey. Even if you had read them, if your mind was all ready made up, you would have still held the same views anyway. Comparison bias and all that.

Anyway I doubt it matters what we believe in this life. It only matters in this life and if you are someone that doesn't believe in life after death, well it still doesn't matter except in this life.

So if your belief makes you happy and comfortable and helps you make sense of this world then good for you.

I believe we'll all know the truth one day. We'll see if I'm right.
