Sure, Putz McConnell will probably sadly win the Senate race in Kentucky.

Kentucky is a solid Red State. In 2004, Bush won it by 20%. 20%. 20. Twenty.

This year, Obama is weak and therefore, should be weak in a 'solid red' state like KY - yet Mitch is only up in polls by 3 points.

If Mitch wins handily, say by TEN points - "Conservatives" and "Republicans" need to think about that for a second. Tune out the Coulter books and the Hannity show or the latest thing Pelosi said and just ponder....

10 years ago we won this state by 20.

Now, in what should be 'our' year, a powerful local Repub can't even win by HALF that margin.

And in the background, slowly, solid "red" places like Arizona and even Texas, slowly get Bluer and Bluer.

How does that change in the future?

What growing electoral blocs do Republicans have a nice firm grip on?

Where do Repubs find new votes?

My vote: Blue Collar Reagan Democrats in the Rust Belt.

Yet, Conservative orthodoxy gets in the way.

Slip slidin' away........

Sure, Repubs will win elections. And all that means is you'll implement Liberalism at a slower pace, because your wins will be squeakers, not governing majorities.

Oh well. Maybe Rhode Island will change to Red.

JediG - can't believe we're trying to give the country away.
