Sorry for my jaded view of things, but deer rifle season started well before dawn this week-end.....a local 25-year-old was up early and thought he'd joke around with his wife, who was still in bed. So, he drew a bead on her, not knowing he had a round in the chamber. She is gone, and he's facing manslaughter. Maybe one of his in-laws will take action to re-unite them again, for eternity.
Now I don't mean to imply that the rural southeastern region of the US has a monopoly on these sort of people...on the other hand, I don't think the region got short-changed with these types, either.

Saturday I did take a drive to Auburn to check out the football scene there. Had a great time. I did observe that, on average, the folks that make up the Auburn football scene seem to be quite a few notches higher up on the food chain than the Crimson Tide bunch....just my personal observation. It was honostly not tainted by the fact that I was the only person in the whole city of Tuscaloosa rooting for Oregon late Saturday night. At least no one picked a fight with me.
Low Tide.
