They got greedy. You've got to lay off some of your action if you don't have the capital to cover your losses if you keep all the risk. Any good bookie is going to have contacts with bookies in other cities, and will be able to lay off with bookies who are getting huge bets the other way.

These guys lost money throughout the season and took a big bet that the Rams would cover and make up their losses. They were wrong. It's hard to have sympathy for them.
