We have had house guests the past few days. They learned why I say I'm not much of a cook.....I actually set the casserole that was baking for dinner on fire. By the time I discovered it, flames were shooting from it 5" high. I managed to get it into the kitchen sink and extinguish the fire without needing to call the fire department. That would have been even more embarrassing....especially in a house that is just now 1 month old.

We had house guests in September. My brother-in-law and second wife stayed for two nights. They must think we don't cook at all as we took them to a local Mexican restaurant one night, my daughter invited us to her house the next night and we feasted on Italian take-out from a local restaurant and the next morning my son-in-law picked up bagels and cream cheese spreads and brought it over to our house.
We all had a great time because I was not in the kitchen cooking and cursing up a storm!
At my age, I know my limits! One is cooking for a crowd and the other is overnight guests. They are allowed to stay two nights and that's it. Out they go! At least I'm honest.
