We, in no way, need to be taxed more. We need tax reform to make the revenue more efficient in relation to the GDP growth. In other words, we need a broad based tax to replace the current taxing structure.

Well, listen to where I'm coming from. Let's say you make all the right moves and now you have no debt and no additional income. All is paid for with present funds. Great! Then let's say we get involved in a major war and those funds no longer cover. Okay, how do you pay for it if not raising taxes?

In my Town we don't really have a so called balanced budget since we set the property tax rate to a level that will pay the bills. Our rates are one of the lowest around. Anyway, let's say the Town people decide to pay to install gas infrastructure throughout Town. There's a cost to that. Taxes go up to cover it. We, as a country, are not doing that. Sorry, Nordquist is wrong and so are the people who sign his pledge.
