We just celebrated 9 yrs. Just because you don't get married right away, doesn't mean you aren't committed to the relationship. Heck, if I had realized at the time about the tax implications we still wouldn't be married!

Greetings, electrasmom, 9 years for us in unwedded bliss. No kids = no compelling reason to MARRY and the tax implications are not biting, either. I would take a dim view of anyone taking a dim view of my decision not to wed; it falls under the category of what Ann Landers used to call "MYOB" unless I had specifically asked for advice about it. Otherwise, it is about a half-step away from proselytizing, which I also take a dim view of.
