We married last year and have joint income <75K. His is pension. Can we fund a Roth IRA for 2007? If so, what's the limit for a couple? "We" can't contribute to "a" Roth, but each of you can contribute to your own Roth based on your earned income alone as long as you file jointly. (He can't base an IRA contribution on the pension income.) The 2007 limit is $4,000 each, $5,000 for one age 50 by 12/31/2007. So, if you're both 50 and you had $10,000 of taxable compensation (wages, self-employment) you can each contribute $5,000. In 2008 the limit goes up $1,000.Phil
