Not sure if it is pertinent but I have seen adverts from two "banks"*** in the past few days offering 2.5% on savings accounts.

I think both were limited time offers but signs of things to come?


*** - One was ING Canada where I don't have an account the other was PC (Presidents Choice Financial) a no fee "bank" where I do have an account. It is run by one of our big grocery chains but affiliated and service provided by one of our big five banks.
