Hello all,

I bumped into a great website today, http://www.cleardarksky.com/csk/. This gives you a graphical forecast for a given location that depicts predicted cloud cover, transparency (measures the water vapor in the air) and moonlight/twilight. It is based on a simple script that takes latitude and longitude and compares it with real-time cloud and transparency maps available from the Canadian Meteorological Center, which you can view with a simple click. You can even request that a custom clock be made for your favorite observing location if it isn't already in the database. No more guessing if the sky is going to be clear enough to hunt faint fuzzies before you pack up and drive to your dark-sky site!

Clear Skies! (None for me tonight, unfortunately, I'll miss the Saturn occultation and am muchly bummed)

- Joe
