i was on another board and shared this as a "success" story and someone suggested that i post it here. my hubby and i had originally planned on going to hawaii to get married, but after tirades from the fools here, we reconsidered and did this instead:wedding for around $3,000location: japanese gardens in a public park, free (only our families attended)judge: friend of family, freetrolley to take us to and from wedding: $200my dress: $80 at anthropologiehusband's outfit: $150 khakis and white linen shirtbed and breakfast for nights before and after wedding: $400 but worth every centinvitations for brunch: made them ourselves, a lot of time but only $500 (check out www.paper-source.com)reception: brunch at our favorite brunch place for 100 people, high ticket item, $1,500dinner for family night of wedding: $300boat tour for family day after wedding: $300it was perfect. our goal was to do a wedding without accumulating debt and we did it! don't know if this is helpful to anyone, just thought i'd throw it out there.don't let a wedding suck your money!!!!!!!!!!!
