Welcome to the new Foodies board, folks!I'm not a first-class foodie, but with a little more determination I could be one. Regardless, I'm in many ways a foodie at heart. First, though, a definition:A foodie isn't just someone who loves to eat, or someone who loves to cook. As I understand the word, it's more like someone who's really into fine dining, and talking about which restaurants are the best, and discussing amazing meals they had, and following which chefs have opened which restaurants, and paying attention to new trends in fancy French (and other) restaurants. In other words, it's a special kind of breed. I've opened this board for just those kinds of discussions. Please feel welcome here. Perhaps we can share restaurant and meal recommendations... and more. Here's another definition of foodie, from foodies.com:"On the curriculum vitae of a foodie, "eating" is listed as a hobby. The foodie lives to eat, and to eat to live is definitive boredom. A true foodie clings to all things culinary. From soup to nuts, a foodie seeks out the fun stuff about fine fare, along with the arcane, the academic, the in-depth, and the latest. To find the perfect cheese or the best macaroon recipe is life's work."And some websites of possible interest:http://www.foodies.com/misc/foodie.htmlhttp://www.foodiesite.com/http://www.foodie.net/http://www.geocities.com/scoobz78/these_are_my_fave_foodie_links.htmCheers!Selena
