Hello, I asked to start this board because there wasn't much information out there on this company. I live right across the road from the plant in Valley, NE. I have some shares in this company because I can see what is going on at least in this plant. A lot of materials are moved through here and the work force is very stable.

A couple of new things are happening and the company has not said much about them yet. First of all, a new wind generator tower has been erected and two weeks ago the generator was mounted. It is HUGE. The tower is 200 feet tall and the generator (Furnished by Omaha Public Power District) is larger than a minivan. The blades must be about 75-80 feet long. The unit is not operating yet but it won't be too long. A friend of mine ran the underground lines to the generator and said it would power the whole plant and then some. He also said Valmont has agreements to do at least three more of these in western Nebraska. Valmont will furnish the poles and the power company will furnish the generators.

Another project that is supposed to happen soon is a 300 foot tall communication mono pole. This is supposed to have a good market because of its height which is much greater than normal.
