Welcome aboard, Sheila! :) So nice to meet other New Yorkers, heh.

I was born in Brooklyn, my family moved to Queens when I was young. I work as a secretary in a small midtown firm. I'm mid-30s, currently single; no kids. I LOVE THE VILLAGE! I tend to hang out more in the east village, but I like to wander west when I can. I lived in Alphabet City for about 1 1/2 years with a couple of roommates about 9 years ago; beautiful apartment (exposed bricks, W/D!), but I ended up LAMM, so I moved back to Queens when the lease was up to save money.

I love movies, especially foreign flicks and indies. I frequently go to the Quad Cinema on 13 Street (small and cheesy, but works for me), though I'll go to various other theatres throughout the city. I occasionally go to off, off Broadway dance performances or other theatrical events, but not very often. I've started doing some volunteer work.

In terms of fitness: Ah, I love your routine and access to a cardio rehab DH! What does he think of Dr. Dean Ornish's program, btw (diet, moderate exercise, therapy & meditation)? I'm actually currently very sedentary and several pounds overweight *sighs*. I tried to start an ambitious running program several years ago (I even walk/ran the NYRRC New Years Eve Midnight Fun Run then) and I absolutely LOVED the way I felt when running and how fast physical improvements became obvious, but then I ended up with knee problems for not starting it properly; ouch. I'm mostly okay now, but I still feel the occasional aches and pains.... then, maybe it's age, heh. I'm debating re-joining a gym again or getting some home exercise equipment, or just a few good videos. I'm also slowly trying to improve my nutritional habits and start cooking at home more consistently. Also desperately need to get cleaned up and organized at home; really slacked since Thanksgiving.

Also almost two weeks ago, I made my Final Happy Dance! :) If you're not familiar with that, it means I paid off the last of the consumer debt that had brought me to these boards several years ago. I'm planning to really start overhauling a lot of things about my life, not limited to financial issues.

Debt free at last and seeing the New York possibilities again,
$IQ
