Hey all. I suffer from having a wife who couldn't care less about chess, and mostly the same with friends. I love the game, and have been reading quite a bit on it recently, and figured this might be a nice way to quell the addiction a bit.

It's not meant to be a board where games get played quickly or anything like that. I figure it'd be great to put up a thread, titled the TMF handles of whoever is playing (white first), and then just start a thread with the moves. Realize that games will more than likely take a while to play through (a few days to a few weeks...maybe longer), so this almost may be a board worth keeping unthreaded, depending on your preferences...

One request I would have with this, is that whenever you post your next move, post whatever the previous set of moves were with it. For instance.

Post #2 - (copy the last post) 1. e4 e5

This sorta thing. That way you've got the whole game already laid out on the last post of the given thread. Comments should or should not be made throughtout the game, depending on the player's tastes...

I figure the board can be for teaching and learning as well. I tend to think of myself as an intermediate player who can play a great game and is just as likely to make a horrible move now and again. Comments thrown throughout some of my games would be welcome. At the same time, say there is a beginner playing someone a little more advanced. The beginner could open the game requesting comments where the opponent sees fit, and that opponent could play the game, making comments on certain moves, and certain board positions.

Also, threads discussing certain strategies can be started, and we can toss around ideas as to what everyone likes to play and why they like to play it.

What are some good teaching books would be good threads. Why are they good? Where can you find them? Etc etc etc...

So, with that said, anyone who would like to start a game with me, just put up the thread and feel free to assign me as either white or black.

And anyone wishing to throw something other than a game up there, go for it!

Please, I can only get into two games at a time...I only have so many chess boards. :-)

Chris
