Well, all it takes is a bit of thinking. If the diver is near the coast, then he's going to be in shallow water and quite visible. If he's farther out (where they're going to do the scooping), then he's probably going to be in deeper water and safe. Maybe not, he could have been kicking out, in which case he was again visible. Another thing to consider, solo diving is growing, but it still is in the minority. Most people dive with a buddy or in groups. There was no mention of a report from the guy's buddy.It seems pretty clear to me, but I do love the story...Jay in Japan
