Well, I just noticed this older thread and thought I'd let anyone with a similar situation know how things went.

From what I've learned (calling the company and speaking with independent repair people) the battery can be replaced at considerable cost (well over $100) especially if you're buying these things second hand, as I am.

The Celviano cost me $250. Investing more than $100 to get back the recording and storage functions provided by the Lithium battery doesn't seem worthwhile, but then it probably depends on how important these features are to you.

The basic keyboard still operates when played. You just can't record and store etc...

Eventually, I sold the Celviano, and bought something simpler. I'm writing this to caution anyone new to digital keyboards and pianos in general. Even if you're purchasing a new keyboard, you might want to keep in mind that the battery functions will only be there a few years.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has had similar experience, or has had a battery replaced in one of these keyboards.
