Well, I think the "simple answer" is that:
a) the initials of the company's name are A (American), R (Reprographics), and C (Company) = ARC, not ARP
b) the trading symbol, ARC (on the NYSE exchange) recently became available, so American Reprographics Company took the opportunity to change its symbol from ARP to ARC.

There really isn't any other reason!

However, because of the change, it has made it more difficult to find information about American Reprographics, "now" vs. "the past."
