Well the yarns that you have 400 yards each of are all about the right yardage for a large child's sweater or a hat/scarf set for an adult.Knowing me, I'd find nice contrasting yarns and do adult sweaters or vests with stripes of the other yarns in them. Or scarves and hats in all different variations until the extra yarn was all gone.Not sure what you mean by "more under control" as far as stash size goes, but I sometimes find that the best course of action with odd bits and ends is A) keep them until you have enough bits and pieces to do completely new projects, or B) Donate them to after school and adult day care programs and start fresh.
