Well, to your first question, believe it or not, the CA is under no obligation to correct a mistake. Where you want to dispute it is with the CRA directly. The CRA is then supposed to contact the CA and have then prove their claim. That does not mean that going to the CA directly will not work, but they could not care less about you. By contact them, it gives them an excuse to come after you for the money.

As to the second question, creditors are not required to report your accounts. In this case, paying off the mortgage a month after opening it (what a waste of closing costs) is not likely to benefit your credit score. Your credit score is not enhanced by failing to pay on time. If your CC accounts are carrying balances or if you pay in full each time, your score should be good. The fact that you completed a mortgage without problems will also benefit you.
