I don't get the outrage. People got a couple years of lower payroll taxes and they should be thankful. The payroll tax rate reduction was only going to be temporary. I invested the extra money I received in my pay. People need to do a better job of planning. Social Security needs all the payroll tax revenue that they can collect.

The only reason we got the Bush federal income tax rate cuts is because they were designated as temporary. I am not complaining that they have been made "permanent" but I certainly was not going to get upset if they had been allowed to expire. I had multiple years where I benefited by the lower federal income tax rates.
