We're looking mostly at Italy (Rome or Florence or both?), Florence and Venice are absolutely my favorite cities in Europe. But with children??? Florence is packed in the summer and the sidewalks are very narrow! So narrow that in many places only 1 person can fit on them, and if someone wants to pass from the other direction, one of you will have to step off the curb. And that is really taking your life in your hands with all those motorscooters riding right along the curbside. I can't imagine trying to negotiate those streets with 3 kids in tow--sorry :-(OTOH, Venice doesn't have auto traffic, so it's a lot safer in that regard. I tend to agree with the majority though, that with 3 kids in tow, neither you nor your kids would enjoy Europe very much.2old
