I can't believe it. DH and I have had a dream for the past 27 years to own an RV and travel. For the past two years we have rented a trailer to use on our vacations in the Spring. We are planning a two week trip in October and found that the trailer that we usually rent has been booked for hunting during that time. Bummed, we thought about changing our date but that won't really work for us.

Then it finally came to us....duh! It is time for us to get our own vehicle. We would have had several opportunities this summer where we could have gotten away for a night of camping if we had just had a vehicle. We live in the Colorado mountains and are surrounded by two wilderness areas, two state parks and numerous forest service campgrounds...all within a 10 - 20 minute drive from our house.

Sooo...on Thursday we went to Denver to "look" at what was available. After 7 hours of "looking", we are now the proud owners of a 2002 (closeout model - LBOM)Prowler Northwest Edition 31'trailer with a 13 foot slideout. Camping won't be roughing it, but we did that route when we first got married and lived in a tent for 6 months.

We pick up the trailer on Thursday and plan to camp on Rabbit Ears Pass on the way home. Can't wait!

Tracy

That's great!

We would have had several opportunities this summer where we could have gotten away for a night of camping if we had just had a vehicle.

That's a fact. What I do is keep my motorhome fully loaded with everything but food. If I decide to take a trip at the the last minute I just get food and go. I also have to grab things like CD's, but I keep a bunch of them in a carry case ready to go at a moments notice. I can be gone in less than an hour. It took a while to reach that point, but it allows me a lot of flexability so it was worth the effort.

Enjoy your new trailer!
