What about movies like Dawn of the Dead and Freddie Vs. Jason

Freddie Vs. Jason had been in the works for a very long time. I remember hearing about a possible FvsJ movie back when I was a small child. Alot of people wanted to see it finally get made. There's alot of nostalgia to it as well. I watched all the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies with my friends as a kid, but I only vaguely remember watching the first Alien movie and 2 Predator movies. And I didn't even care to see the alien. I liked Ripley. She's not even in this movie. On top of that, the Freddie character has alot of personality. The AvsP movie is two mute juggarnauts like Jason pitted against each other. Where's the banter and human frailty in that? What's the dialogue going to be? The humans on the sidelines in the movie going "Oh look at that hit! Oh look at that one!"

I haven't seen Dawn of the Dead, so I can't say much about that. The success may be because it was a remake of such a great horror flick. Or because it came out right after the hugely successful 28 Days Later. Or maybe everyone just wanted to drool over Mekhi Pfeiffer (I totally understand). And it had Ving Rhames in it didn't it? Ving Rhames rules.

If this movie had come out right after Freddie Vs. Jason, with some better eye candy for the human characters, I think it would do much better. As it is now, I don't think it stands a chance of getting 80 million. Could be wrong.
